What's new

The latest things we've added to Simplio, by date. Every feature exists because a real customer needed it.

  1. Domains: who holds each domain, whether it renews itself and when it expires

The Domains screen now shows, for every domain in all your accounts, where it is registered (at AWS, or outside AWS with the name of the registrar: GoDaddy, IONOS, Arsys…), whether auto-renewal is on or off, in green or red, and when it expires. For domains registered outside AWS, Simplio looks it up in the public RDAP directory; .es domains don't publish that data and stay as "outside AWS". Auto-renewal for AWS domains is changed from the card's menu, and switching it off asks for two-factor.

  2. Cards or list on every screen, on mobile too

Machines, snapshots, buckets, databases, functions, domains and email can be viewed as cards or as a compact list, sortable by any column (cost, status, region, IP…), with a button next to the search box. Simplio remembers your choice on each screen. The list never scrolls sideways: if the screen is narrow, the less important columns are hidden and the essentials still fit on a phone. The actions for each object are always in the same place, a three-dot menu, in both modes.

  3. PowerShell terminal on Windows with the spare key

On a Lightsail Windows machine with a spare key, the Terminal button opens a PowerShell console in the browser signing in as the rescue user, even if Lightsail can no longer provide the administrator password because someone changed it. Two-factor on every opening, a five-minute certificate and everything in the activity log, as on Linux.

  4. Spare key on Windows too, and "see which users there are"

The spare key (the rescue user that only Simplio can open, with your two-factor and for five minutes) can now be created on Windows machines with a PowerShell script that you paste once, as well as on Linux with a button. On Linux it coexists with the certificate authority of the Lightsail console. And if you don't remember which user needs recovering, the "See which users are on the machine" option lists them with their folder, whether they are administrators and their last access, without changing anything.

  5. PowerShell terminal for Windows machines

The terminal in the browser, which until now opened a Bash console on Linux machines, now also opens a PowerShell console on Lightsail Windows machines through the Windows OpenSSH server. Same rules: two-factor on every opening, permission per person and per machine, and the server's fingerprint remembered the first time and required on subsequent ones.

  6. What no longer exists in AWS is shown, and removed from the list

If a database or other resource is deleted in AWS outside Simplio, its card says so clearly ("Does not exist in AWS") instead of staying as if it were still there, and the administrator can remove it from the list with one click. Also on the add-resources screen.

  7. Confirmation when you write to us

Anyone who writes to us from the contact form receives a confirmation email with a copy of their message, so they know it has arrived and that we will reply.

  8. AWS guides in Spanish: 54 real tasks, explained from scratch

A new section of step-by-step guides on Lightsail, EC2, RDS, IAM, SES, S3, Route 53, Lambda and the AWS bill, written so that someone who doesn't know what a gateway is can understand them: what each word means, what to do, what can go wrong and, at the end of each one, how much time you save by doing the same in Simplio. With pages by topic and a sample on the home page.

  9. Platform credentials that renew themselves

The credentials Simplio uses to talk to AWS are rotated automatically: every 30 days a new one is generated, checked to work and the previous one is withdrawn, with no outage for anyone. And if there were ever a suspicion of a leak, rotation can be forced immediately.

Missing something? Tell us: that's where the new features come from.

All of this, without the AWS console

Simplio is a panel to manage your AWS accounts: machines, scheduled copies, databases, domains, email and what AWS charges you, with per-person permissions and two-factor. Nothing installed on your servers.
