For agencies, consultancies and professionals who manage their clients' AWS.
All your AWS clients in your panel. Each client, only what they need in theirs.
Machines, backups, databases, storage, domains, email and what AWS charges you, from all your accounts on a single screen, with names your team understands and each person limited to their own. No console, nothing to install and no need to give us your AWS password.
For agencies, consultancies and developers who manage several AWS accounts and do not want to jump in and out of the console or be their clients' on-call phone. And for businesses that run their cloud with clear buttons.
- Several AWS accounts on one screen, without mixing them up
- Your client reboots their machine or opens their IP without calling you, and without seeing your key
- Nothing to install on your machines
- 15 days free, no card and no commitment

Let your client sort out the small stuff, without calling you
The big thing about Simplio is not a prettier view of AWS: it is being able to give each client access to just what they need. Reboot their machine, open their IP in the firewall, take a backup before touching the website. Nothing else.
You tick three boxes
You create their user, assign them only their machine and tick what they can do: reboot, firewall, backups. No IAM user, no hand-written policy, no teaching them the console.
They log in and see two buttons
With their password and their two-factor code. They see one card with their machine's status and the buttons you gave them. They never see your AWS key or the other accounts, they cannot delete anything, and you decide whether they see what their machines cost or not.
You see who did what
Every reboot and every IP added is logged with time and origin. If the website hangs on a Saturday, they reboot it and you find out on Monday. If they stop being a client, you deactivate them.
One place for your accounts, your resources and your people
What today is spread across several consoles, several passwords and several people, on one screen anyone can understand. This is what really changes your day-to-day.
All your cloud accounts
One key per account, per customer or per region, all in the same list.
Each key is identified with the AWS account number, the company name and its billing email, which Simplio finds out by itself. Before any action that costs money, you are told which account will be charged. No more "was this the shop's account or the customer's?".

All your resources, with names your team understands
Machines, storage, databases, functions and domains, on cards.
Simplio finds what you already have in each account and you choose what to manage. Each thing is a card with its status, its details and its buttons: "Shop", "Email", "Copies", "Customer website". No console, no commands and no fear of touching where you shouldn't.
All your people, each with their own
Permissions per person, per action and per object. Nobody receives an AWS key.
The manager sees everything, the shop person can restart their machine, the agency only enters its customer's account, the technician opens the terminal of a single machine. With two-factor on the sensitive things and a log of who did what, when and from where. If someone stops working with you, you deactivate them and that's it.

How it works, in 3 steps
Less than an hour from when you start until your team is managing the machines. And at no point is anything installed on them.
You connect your AWS account, without giving us your password
Simplio never holds the key to your account. What you do is tell AWS: “let Simplio in, and only for this: see my machines, start them, stop them and open or close ports”. Every time Simplio needs to do something, AWS gives it a pass that expires in one hour. Your key never leaves AWS, and if one day you want to cut off access, you remove it in your account and that's it. Sounds complicated? It isn't: the application's help gives you a text to paste into the AWS terminal that gets it done in two minutes, without creating users or permissions by hand. And if you prefer the traditional method, you can also give it an access key with limited permissions, which is stored encrypted.
You paste the identifier into Simplio
When it finishes, the AWS terminal shows you an identifier (a long text that starts with “arn:”): you paste it into Access keys and Simplio checks the connection. That identifier is no secret: on its own it opens nothing. If you choose the classic key, it is stored encrypted with AES-256 and is never shown again. You can register several connections: one per service, per region or per customer, and each one is identified with its AWS account.
You choose which machines to manage
Simplio finds what you already have on its own. You tick the machines, buckets, databases, functions and domains you want to manage, give them a clear name and create the users with what each one can do. From that moment on, managing the cloud is pressing a button.
We never install anything on your machines. No agents, no programs, no scripts. Simplio talks to your cloud provider with the same API its own console uses, using only the permission you have given it. If one day you stop using Simplio, you remove that permission in AWS and that's it: your machines stay just as they were.
And on top of that, everything you need day to day
Every feature exists because a real customer needed it. No console, no commands, no fear of touching where you shouldn't.
All your machines on cards
Each server with its name, its live status, its IPs and its details. At a glance you know what is on and what is not.

Security you can explain to your customer
Managing production servers takes care. The essentials, in four points; the full detail, on the security page.
Only what you tick for it
Simplio can only do in your AWS account what you have allowed, and with the role-based connection that permission only works from Simplio's servers. You withdraw it yourself, from your account, in a minute.
No keys of yours to store
With the recommended connection, AWS gives Simplio a pass that expires in one hour. If you prefer a classic key, it is stored encrypted with a master key that lives outside the database.
Two-factor on every sensitive action
A code from your phone to sign in and to stop, delete, upload code, open a terminal or use the spare key. Administrators too. A stolen password isn't enough to touch anything.
Everything is logged
Who did what, when and from which IP, including attempts that failed. A log that you, your customer or your adviser can read without being technical.
Do any of these sound familiar?
For developers, agencies and consultancies that look after several customers or several AWS accounts and want to do it quickly and from one place. And for freelancers and small businesses that run their cloud without a systems administrator.
"I know how to use the console, but I don't want to spend all day in it, switching in and out of accounts"
You know where everything is, and that is precisely why you don't want to switch account, find the instance, open the security group and note down the IP by hand every time someone calls you. In Simplio it takes two clicks with the account identified, and you can also delegate the routine to someone who doesn't know AWS, with limited permissions and everything logged. You keep what a technician really needs.
"I look after the machines of ten customers and each one has their own AWS"
Register one key per customer, limited to what is theirs, and manage everything from one screen, always knowing which account you are in and which one each thing is charged to. And you give each client access only to what is theirs: if their website hangs on a Saturday, they reboot it instead of calling you. The activity log covers your back.
"The website is in one account, the email in another and nobody knows which is which"
All your AWS accounts in the same list, each one identified by its number, its company and its billing email. The machines, buckets and domains of all of them, on cards with the name your team uses. A single password and a single two-factor per person, instead of one console per account.
"My shop runs out of memory and nobody tells me"
With the metrics for the last 24 h you see whether the machine is running tight before the website goes down in the middle of a campaign. And if it needs a restart, you do it yourself, with a button and a code from your phone, without waiting for the technician.
"I pay for the test server 24 hours a day and only use it during the day"
If it's an EC2 machine or an RDS database, switch it off at night and at weekends from your phone and turn it on again on Monday: stopped, it doesn't pay for compute hours, only for the disk. Anyone on your team can do it without touching AWS. Note: on Lightsail the price is fixed per month, so switching it off doesn't save anything; what saves money there is deleting old snapshots.
"I want my collaborator to be able to restart, but without giving them my keys"
Create a user with permission only on that machine and only for what is needed. They never see your AWS key, they can't delete anything and everything they do is noted down. If they stop collaborating, you deactivate them and that's it.
"I'm going to update the website and I'm afraid of breaking it"
Before touching anything, press Create snapshot: a full copy of the machine in a minute. If the update goes wrong, you recover it from the AWS console. And when everything goes well, you delete the old snapshots so you don't overpay.
"I pay 600 € a month to AWS and I don't know where it goes"
Costs shows it to you by account, by service and by object: billed so far, the forecast and last month, in euros. You see which machine costs 44 $ and which 5 $, and how much is VAT or services you don't manage. Without opening Billing or downloading reports.
"The website has been down for an hour and a customer told me"
Simplio checks your accounts every 15 minutes and emails you if a machine that should be on is stopped, if a copy has not been made or if a domain is about to expire. And another email when it is resolved.
"The database is the most valuable thing and nobody makes copies"
Your MySQL on RDS or Lightsail appears as one more card: take a copy before each close, restore it into a new database if needed and stop it outside working hours if it's only for testing. With the same charts and the same permissions as the machines.

We start with the one almost everybody uses. The others arrive with the same screen and the same permissions.

If you pay for the whole year you pay for 10 months and the other 2 are free (49, 120, 390, 1.490 €). Need more than Empresa includes? Tell us and we will give you a tailored price. During the 15 trial days you get the limits and features of the Pro plan. When you reach the cap of your plan, Simplio tells you when you try to add something (it never removes anything you already have) and you move up to the next plan with no surprises. Access keys are generous on purpose: creating one per machine, per service or per region is the safest approach and shouldn't push you onto a more expensive plan. Tell us what you have and we'll tell you which plan fits.
The 15-day trial doesn't ask for a card: when it ends, the account is paused and you decide whether to continue. Card payment from within the app itself will come later; until then we handle it with you by email.
Frequently asked questions
The ones everybody asks before they start.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. You sign up with your email (or with your Google account) and get 15 days with everything your plan offers, with no card and no commitment. Nothing is charged automatically when it ends.
Is there a discount for paying yearly?
Yes, and it's simple: if you pay for the whole year you pay for 10 months and the other 2 are free, on any plan (49, 120, 390, 1,490 € a year depending on the plan). In the plans table you can see the monthly or the yearly price with the selector above. No commitment beyond the paid period.
What happens when the trial ends?
The account is paused: you can't sign in, but nothing is deleted (your keys, machines, users and activity stay where they are). If you want to continue, write to us and we will activate your plan; if not, you don't have to do anything. Card payment from within the app will arrive in a later phase; for now we arrange it with you by email.
Do I have to install anything on my machines?
No. Nothing. No agent, no program, no script. Simplio talks to your cloud provider through its official API, with an access key that you create yourself. Your machines don't even know Simplio exists. In fact, this is one of the reasons our customers choose us.
Can you see my data or get into my servers?
The key you register only allows what you have given it permission for: viewing status, starting, stopping, touching the firewall or managing a bucket. With those permissions it is not possible to get into the machine or read its disks. The exception is the Lightsail terminal in the browser, and it is worth knowing exactly how it works: it is only possible if you add the optional "Terminal" block to the key (permission lightsail:GetInstanceAccessDetails, with which AWS hands over a temporary SSH key valid for a few minutes, the same one its web console uses); inside Simplio it can only be opened by a user to whom the administrator has given the "terminal" action and that specific machine, and always with the two-factor code; the session goes through the Simplio server, which does not record it, and every opening is logged with user, machine, date and IP. If you don't want anyone to be able to get into your machines from Simplio, don't add that block to the key: without it, neither your users nor Simplio can do it. The key is stored encrypted with a master key that is not in the database: only the Simplio server decrypts it, at the moment of talking to AWS, and it is never shown on screen again. As with any service, the Simplio operator has technical access to the server; what really protects you is that the key can only do what you decided, and that you can revoke it in AWS whenever you like.
What happens if I lose my two-factor phone?
There are no recovery codes or email shortcuts: that way a stolen password is no use for getting around it. If you are a regular user, your company administrator can switch off your two-factor from Users, after making sure it is you through a channel they know (a call, in person); that action is recorded in the activity log and you set it up again on the new phone when you sign in. If the one who loses the phone is the administrator and there is no other administrator in the company, the Simplio operator does it, only after verifying the identity with the company by a means other than email, and that is also logged. We recommend always having two administrators. In the meantime nobody can sign in with your user, which is exactly what you want.
Does it work with Lightsail and EC2?
Yes, with both. Lightsail machines also have the built-in firewall, the terminal in the browser and metrics; EC2 ones have metrics through CloudWatch. Both support snapshots. You can mix them on the same screen. S3 buckets, Lightsail and RDS databases and Lambda functions are also supported.
Can I edit the code of my Lambda functions?
Yes, if they are written in Python, Node.js or Ruby: you open the function, change the code in the editor, save it confirming with two-factor and test it right away, seeing the response and the logs. In other languages (Java, .NET, Go) the function can be viewed and tested, but the code is not edited from Simplio, because it has to be compiled. You can also create new functions (Python, Node.js or Ruby) with a button, with sample code to get started, and give them a public URL with one click.
Can I manage the DNS of my domain?
Yes, if the domain is in Route 53 (Amazon's DNS). Each domain is a card with its records: you see where the website points, which server receives the email and the verification texts, and you can add, change or remove A, AAAA, CNAME, TXT, MX, SRV and CAA records with a single line and help depending on the type. The records that make the domain work (NS and SOA), aliases to other AWS services and those with a routing policy can be seen but not touched; removing a record asks for two-factor and replacing an existing one or touching the root asks for confirmation, because a badly set record can leave a website or email without service. Creating new domains, alias records and health checks will come later.
What about Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud?
Not yet, they are in development. The application is already prepared inside for several clouds, so when they arrive you will have the same screen and the same permissions. If you have machines on Azure or Google and you are interested, tell us: it helps us prioritise.
How long does it take to be ready?
Under an hour. Creating the key with minimum permissions in AWS takes two minutes with the script that the help generates for you (you paste it into the AWS terminal and it gives you back the key); if you prefer to do it by hand, it explains it step by step. After that, registering the key, choosing machines and creating users takes a few minutes. If you prefer, on the Empresa plan we do it with you.
Can I limit what each user does?
Yes, and in great detail. Per user you decide whether they can view, start, stop or restart, create snapshots, handle files or databases, open the terminal, and whether two-factor is required. And per object: which machines, buckets or databases they can access, either by giving them a whole key or just individual objects. The typical case is that the manager sees everything and a collaborator only one machine.
Can I give my clients access so they do not call me for every little thing?
Yes, and it is one of the most used features. You create a user for your client, assign them their machine and tick what they can do: reboot, add or remove their IP in the firewall, take a backup. They log in with their password and two-factor code, see only their card with those buttons and never see your AWS key or the other accounts. You also decide whether they see the costs of their machines or not. Everything they do is in the activity log. If they stop being a client, you deactivate them.
What permissions does the access key need?
Only those for the actions you want to use: listing machines, seeing their status and metrics, starting, stopping and restarting, reading and changing the firewall, creating and deleting snapshots and, if you use them, managing the buckets or databases you choose. No billing, no creating or deleting machines, no other services. In the help you tick boxes for what you want to allow (view only, no firewall, a single region…) and it generates the policy and the script for you.
What if the key leaks?
With the role-based connection there is no key to leak: Simplio asks AWS for temporary credentials every time and they expire in an hour. If you use a classic access key: first, it is encrypted and never shown again, so leaking it from Simplio is very difficult. Second, since it has minimum permissions, whoever had it could neither create machines nor see your billing; they could do the same as the key allows in Simplio (stop a machine, delete a file from a bucket if you gave it that permission, open the terminal if you added that block), and that is why each key should only be given what it needs. And third, you revoke it in your cloud in a minute and create another. The activity log also tells you whether anyone did anything strange from Simplio.
Can I stop using Simplio whenever I want?
Yes. There is no commitment and we leave nothing installed. You delete the access key in your cloud and your machines stay exactly as they were.
Do I see what AWS really charges me?
Yes. The Costs screen shows, for each AWS account, what has been billed this month so far, the end-of-month forecast and last month, exactly as AWS itself gives it (Cost Explorer), in dollars and in euros. Next to it, an object-by-object estimate using the public rate, so you know how much each machine or database costs per month. And if you want, a budget per user: what each person can create from Simplio has a cap.
Does it alert me if something goes wrong?
Yes, by email and in the app itself. Simplio checks your accounts every 15 minutes and warns you of a stopped machine that should be on, a copy that has not been made, a domain or email identity that is expiring or is no longer verified, a budget that is exceeded or an email bounce rate that is too high. Each person chooses which alerts they want to receive, and Simplio doesn't nag: one alert when it appears and another when it is resolved.
Does it make automatic copies of my machines?
Yes. You can schedule snapshots for each machine (every day, every week…), say how many are kept and, if you want, copy them automatically to another AWS region, so that a problem in one data centre doesn't take the copies with it. And before touching anything delicate, a manual snapshot with a button.
Does it work for the email my applications send (Amazon SES)?
Yes. The Email (SES) screen shows your verified domains and addresses in each region, tells you which DNS records are missing (DKIM, SPF, DMARC, MAIL FROM) and, if the domain is in Route 53, adds them with a button. You see the daily quota, how much has been sent, the bounce and complaint percentage, and the suppression list. You can also request from Simplio, via AWS, to leave the testing mode (sandbox).
