How it works
Simplio checks your accounts every 15 minutes
Machine status, scheduled copies, domains and SES identities, budgets and bounces. All with the read permissions it already has.
When something changes, it alerts you
A stopped machine that should be on, a copy that hasn't been made, a domain or email identity that is expiring or is no longer verified, a budget that is exceeded, high email bounces.
Each person chooses what they receive
In "My profile", each user ticks the types of alert they want. The technician wants to hear about copies; the person in charge, about budgets.
How secure it is
Alerts without noise
One alert per event: when it is resolved and happens again, you are alerted again; while it lasts, you aren't. That way alerts get read.
Only about what you can see
Each person receives alerts for the objects and accounts they have permission for. Nothing more.
The same task, in AWS and in Simplio
| On your own in AWS | In Simplio | |
|---|---|---|
| Know that a machine has stopped | CloudWatch alarm on StatusCheck + SNS topic + email subscription, per machine and per region | Tick "machines" in your alerts |
| Know that the copy wasn't made | There is no native alert: your own script or checking by hand | Automatic alert |
| SES domain that stops being verified | Look at the SES console from time to time | Automatic alert |
