La factura de AWS llega a principios de mes, en dólares, con cientos de líneas con nombres como "EC2-Other" y "Data Transfer", y para entonces ya está gastado. Saber a mitad de mes cuánto vas a pagar, o cuánto cuesta de verdad la máquina de un cliente concreto, requiere entrar en Cost Explorer, filtrar, agrupar y convertir a euros a mano. Con varias cuentas, multiplica.
Simplio te enseña, por cada cuenta, lo facturado este mes, la previsión de fin de mes y el mes pasado, tal como lo da AWS, en dólares y en euros. Y al lado de cada máquina, base de datos o bucket, cuánto cuesta al mes. Si gestionas la nube de clientes, es el dato que necesitas para facturarles; si es la tuya, el que necesitas para no llevarte sorpresas.
How it works
You connect the account with the costs block
The Cost Explorer permission is optional and read-only: if you include it when connecting the account, Simplio can read the amounts.
You see the bill per account
This month so far, end-of-month forecast and previous month, per account. In dollars, as AWS gives them, and in euros.
You see the cost per object
Every machine, database and bucket carries its monthly cost. It's the quick way to find what is being paid for and nobody uses.
If you want, you set a cap per user
For what a user creates from Simplio (machines, disks, snapshots), a monthly limit they can't exceed.
How secure it is
Read-only
The costs permission only reads amounts. It can't change anything about billing or payment methods.
Separate permission to see costs
Seeing how much is paid is an action of its own: you can give someone control of the machines without showing them the bill, or the other way round.

Frequently asked questions
Are the amounts exact?
They are the ones AWS gives in Cost Explorer: this month so far, the forecast AWS calculates and the closed month. The conversion to euros is indicative; AWS's official bill remains in dollars.
Can Simplio spend money in my account?
Only what a user creates from Simplio with permission to do so (a machine, a disk, a snapshot), and within the monthly cap you set. The confirmations for those actions say which account is charged.
