AWS Lambda · Python, Node.js and Ruby

Lambda functions from the browser: change the code, test it and see what happened

Each function appears as a card: its code in an editor, a "Test now" button, the logs of the last run, memory and maximum time, and a public URL that you switch on or remove with one click and the two-factor code. Code is edited in Python, Node.js and Ruby; in other languages it can be viewed and tested, but not modified.

How it works

  1. You open the function

Code, configuration (memory, maximum time, variables) and the logs of the last run, on the same screen.

  2. You change and test

You edit the code, press "Test now" with whatever input data you like and see the response and the logs immediately. Uploading the new code asks for the code from your phone.

  3. You give it a public URL if you need one

One click and two-factor: AWS assigns it an https address that you can call from anywhere. Another click removes it.

How secure it is

Uploading code asks for two-factor

Always. Changing the code of a function that is in production isn't done with a mistaken click.

The public URL is enabled deliberately

Enabling it asks for the phone code, because a public URL is an open door to the internet. Removing it is just as easy.

Separate permission

Functions is an action of its own; it is granted per person and per account.

Frequently asked questions

Which languages can be edited?

Python, Node.js and Ruby, which are deployed as source code. Functions in other languages or packaged as a container can be viewed and tested, but not edited from Simplio.

Can I schedule it to run every night?

Scheduling is done in AWS (EventBridge) and the relevant guide explains it step by step. From Simplio you view the function, test it and change it.

All of this, without the AWS console

Simplio is a panel to manage your AWS accounts: machines, scheduled copies, databases, domains, email and what AWS charges you, with per-person permissions and two-factor. Nothing installed on your servers.
